characteristic immoderation

I find myself tonight continually thinking on the terms “characteristic immoderation” wondering if that applied to me in a way (as I tend to think that it doesn’t.)

To be sure, however, I wanted to know if there were any riders on the definition of immoderation (as opposed to it simply meaning “not in moderation”) but found that it was defined as being just that, and even the oxford defines it as, “not sensible or restrained.”

but what does it mean to be sensible?

Oxford again has that: “(of a person) possessing or displaying prudence.” and “(of an object) practical and functional…” and “(of a statement or course of action) chosen in accordance with wisdom or prudence”

So the biggest term seems to be prudence (after-all, practicality in a way is very similar to prudence) but it only means, “acting with or showing care and thought for the future”

So to be immoderate means to simply usually act without or not show care and thought for the future…

This seems to me to simply mean that to be “immoderate” is to be a living absurdist.
