continually connected disconnection?

I feel off.

All day, I felt off. All night too.

Do you ever feel that its exhausting to try and fit in where you currently are? Maybe its because you’ve changed, or your situation has changed, or the whole world has changed.

Maybe nothing’s changed.

But still, you feel as though something doesn’t fit anymore?

That’s me.

Joshua Radin — Winter

I should know who I am by now,
I walk the record stand somehow,
Thinking of winter
Your name is the splinter inside me
While I wait

And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown,
And I remember the truth,
A warm December with you,
But I don’t have to make this mistake,
And I don’t have to stay this way
If only I would wake…

The walk has all been cleared by now
Your voice is all I hear somehow
Calling out winter
Your voice is the splinter inside me
While I wait

And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown,
And I remember the truth,
A warm December with you,
But I don’t have to make this mistake,
And I don’t have to stay this way
If only I would wake…

I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes,
And I miss you still

Oh! I remember the sound
Of your November downtown,
And I remember the truth,
A warm December with you,
But I don’t have to make this mistake,
And I don’t have to stay this way
If only I would wake…

college “football”

so aside from the fact that this strange american game is not in fact played with one’s feet and thus should not be called “football” which forces us to refer to REAL football as “soccer” in this country, and also the fact that i don’t give a crap about american football (in fact i down right detest it)

that having been said, i am so damn happy that ucla beat usc because lets face it, i can’t stand usc, it largely embodies all that is wrong with higher education today where money precludes real social change from ever occurring.

this film is not yet rated

so in typical, “i’m a terrible student” fashion, i skipped my political science class last night, and instead, chris and i drove down to u.s.c. (love the campus, hate the students and the geographic location, and oh yeah, most of the faculty too) for a free screening of kirby dick’s film, “this film is not yet rated” which surprisingly, is unrated.

its a documentary about the motion picture association of america, the industry lapdog that is responsible for rating films to be released in the united states of america, and i personally found the movie fascinating, entertaining, and all around thought it was a great film, i’d highly recommend people catch it next spring when it airs on ifc, or if you can’t wait, try and find a store to rent it from, or just buy a copy when it comes out on dvd in january.

anyway, the link to the official site is below.
