what i want to see in the next-gen macbook pro, or more specifically, the specs that would give apple my cash (yet again) without question.
3ghz (or similar) intel core 2 duo (or equivalent 64-bit dual/quad core processor)
15″ widescreen display at 1680×1050 (if dell can do it, i know apple can)
256mb pci-express graphic card w/ dvi & s-video out
4gb ddr2-500 ram
250GB 5400 sata perpendicular drive
16x dl-superdrive slot-loading
built-in isight and built-in ir w/ frontrow
optical audio in/out
3 x USB 2.0 ports
at least 1 x firewire 800 port
keep the same sexy aluminum casing and backlit keyboard
of course, at those specs, it’d be a $4000 machine… which i can’t afford… though one must admit, it’d be a sexy rig.
